Diana Ross is selling her nine-acre Greenwich estate

Crooner Diana Ross, 62, is selling her nine-acre Greenwich estate in the exclusive Belle View enclave. Asking price: $39.5 million.

It is listed with Kathryn Clauss of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Greenwich, Conn., who did not return multiple calls for comment.

The 12,000 square-foot French Normandy-style home was built in 1930 and overlooks Long Island Sound. It features 11 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a sauna, wine cellar and terraces that look out over rolling manicured lawns. Other Belle View residents include mutual fund manager Mario Gabelli and hedge fund honcho John Paul Jones.

"Her kids [Ross, 19, and Evan, 18] have graduated from school," says Round Hill Partners broker William Steel of the listing that went on the market two weeks ago. "I heard years ago that she was downsizing."

Ross, a former member of The Supremes, has had a prolific career with 18 number one singles and 70 top ten hits since 1964. She is reportedly at work on a book called Upside Down: Wrong Turns, Right Turns and the Road Ahead.
